The Artist that will be featured in my magazine has quite a unique personality, they don't really like telling/ people knowing their business. They say they are in this industry to create music not to create friendships, they're quite serious when it comes to their music because its their business and their source of income so they don't play about when interviewed. although my artist is quite professional and lowkey theyre quite fun and have a goofy personality their music represents them but also shows what they have been through.

Research Rationale

Research rationale 

The task is to create a music magazine that will appeal to 14-18 year olds as that's the age group that I am around and will be selling my product to, by having such a large range of teenagers this will enable me to widen my research. This will also help me understand what type of music and also what type of music magazines teenagers read and  also what will attract them to buy it.

 The types of research I will be doing are online surveys as I can get lots of people to do this easily and I’ll also do a paper survey for some of the people that are a bit older. Also I’ll be doing some qualitative research by doing some market research, I’ll do this by  deconstructing some already made music magazines so I know what is already out in the world and also what my competition will be like. By me doing all this research it will allow me to understand what is already made and also what makes a music magazine successful the answers I get from all this research will help me decide what I should include inside of my product and also what I display on my front cover as its the first thing people see when purchasing a magazine.

The resources I’ll need are social media as I can send the link to the online survey and get people I know to fill it out for me, other resources such as access to the students here at my school so I can get the information that I need.

BRIEF

INTRODUCTION TO NEA BRIEF:  

Our task is to create a front page music magazine and also include a double page spread article about an artist.  From our prelim task which was to create a fashion magazine I learnt what a magazine lay out looks like and also what works and what doesn't. In that prelim task I was also taught how to use Photoshop and also how to give the audience what they want by doing things such as a questionnaire or quizzes.  I'm really looking forward to this project because I have a passion for music and I really enjoy listening to all different types of music. I hope I can produce a magazine that shows my kind of taste in music as I mainly enjoy hip-hop, rap and RnB. I plan to give my magazine a edgy/hip-hop theme as that's the kind of music I listen to and also enjoy.

I'm not really looking forward to all the planning and research ill have to do. In my prelim task I let myself down by not researching enough and also not posting my process of how I got the ideas I did. In this project I plan to stay on top of all my work and post processes and do as much research and planning as I can to make this magazine successful. Id also like to improve my editing, even thou I was taught how to use Photoshop I was quite lazy as I knew I could do more but I just couldn't be bothered, on this music magazine project id love to try to edit and make my magazine look as professional as I can.

My initial ideas of what my product will be influenced by the answers I get from my audience research as ill be able to see what young teenagers like to see and also what will make them buy my magazine.
